Our meeting point for the Kyra Panagia kayak expedition is our base Milia beach. Here you can choose kayaks, paddles and other equipment.
We follow the coast line of Skopelos going either north or south. There are plenty of deserted beaches to rest on, and the scenery is simply stunning.
Crossing to Alonissos is pretty straightforward, two islands in the channel give us somewhere to rest.
The main town of Patatiri is ideal for a coffee and restocking our supplies. This is a beautiful island with a dramatic coastline of towering cliffs to the north and beaches in the south.
We also visit the old town on the hill with its cobbled streets and plethora of tavernas. Expect commanding views from this jem of a village perched high above the Aegean sea.
This uninhabited island lies just off the East coast of Alonissos. Paddling around the outside gives a real feeling of exposure with open sea and distant islands.
Sitting 7km NNE from the Northern coast of Alonissos, this beautiful island gets its name from the monastery of Kyra Panagia located on the East coast.
The island has 2 large bays and a coastline of tall rocky cliffs and low rolling hills. For me the most spectacular views are while rounding the North of this island and seeing the island of Gioura. Said to be the home of the Cyclops and you will see why…
Our Kyra Panagia kayak expedition is one of our most popular and was featured in the Guardian news papers 20 bargain beach holidays in Europe!
