Timetables and information about buses to Skopelos

Here you will find information about buses from Athens and Thessaloniki and the local island service.

The main intercity bus company in Greece is KTEL. Have a look on their website for the latest timetables and to book tickets online. You only really need to book tickets in advance if you are traveling during high summer (July and August) or Greek Easter.

Bus from Athens to Skopelos

This journey is broken into two parts, firstly from the airport to the bus terminal and then from the terminal to the port you have chosen to take the ferry.
From the airport take the X93 local bus.
When you get on you can pay the driver. A ticket costs about 5 euro. Journey takes about 45 minutes.
You will travel to Liosion which is the closest bus stop to the main terminal at Kifisos. Ask the driver to let you know when you reach Liosion.
From the bus stop cross the road and walk straight up the street opposite. The terminal is about 100 meters away.
At the Kifisos bus terminal you will be able to buy tickets to the port where you will catch your ferry to Skopelos. Info KTEL Athens

Volos

Ferries sail from here all year.
Journey time is about 4:30 hours. Info KTEL Magnisias

Mantoudi

Anes ferries sail from here throughout the year. We expect this to be a daily service for summer 2015.

Bus from Thessaloniki to Skopelos

From the airport take the No78 bus to the Macedonia bus terminal

The bus stop is outside the airport opposite the taxi rank.

The Macedonia terminal is the last stop, so don’t get off until the driver does! Journey time is about 1 hour.

You can buy a ticket from the kiosk at the bus stop (1 euro) or from the large grey machine on the bus (2 euro). Don’t forget to validate your ticket in the orange machine on the bus.
In the terminal you buy tickets to Volos from desk 18 located next to the cafe by the main entrance.
Tickets cost about 19 euro and the journey takes about 2:30 hours.
The bus terminal in Volos is about 1.5km from the ferry port. Walking takes about 20 minutes or 5 minutes in a taxi. Info KTEL Makedonia

Skopelos bus service

During the summer months there is a regular bus service operating about every hour with buses running between Skopelos town and Loutraki. They stop at all the main beaches and villages en-route.
