Paddlepower
Courses for younger paddlers
Paddlepower is a series of courses from the British Canoe Union aimed at younger paddlers.
The courses are ideally suited to under 14’s but are also suitable for under 16’s.
If you would like more information then follow the link below to the BCU’s paddlepower handbook;
We have found that including the coaching sessions into a day trip works best with the best results.
This approach allows the whole family to be involved and the coaches can drip feed information allowing children time to practice and gain confidence before moving on.
Of course parents can get involved too which also helps with confidence and fun.
With warm, calm clear water and plenty of sunshine what better place to learn about kayaking.
The Paddlepower program is split into 5 awards, each award comprises of a series of levels.
We offer the first 3 levels;
- Start
- Passport
- Discover
Some of these awards are equivalent to some of the adult awards.
